I am a huge advocate of plant-based eating. I need to qualify that somewhat, however, because I believe we need to take care to eat plants that are as close as possible to the way they have been provided to us by nature. A piece of fruit, such as an apple or a peach, is nature's ultimate "Fast Food". My lifelong quest to find foods that would support vibrant life on their own ultimately lead me to the product that I hold near and dear to my heart, FrequenSea. It is a food like no other on the market, as it has at its base Marine Phytoplankton. For those of you who don't know the story of how marine phytoplankton recently came to be available as a food source for mankind, go to my website www.planktonplease.com and watch the video "By Land and By Sea”. It beautifully explains the story of Tom Harper, his victory in developing a technique that is changing the world in a profound way, and his personal battle with cancer.
Shortly after I started to tell people about the amazing marine phytoplankton whole food tonic, "FrequenSea", I came across a fisherwoman who related to me a story that opened my awareness about food in a new way. She said that they had once caught a dolphin in their nets and decided to dissect it. When the dissection was complete, they was absolutely astounded by the fact that its stomach was only about the size of an orange while its brain overflowed a 5-gallon bucket. I didn't think to ask her what type of dolphin it was, and for that matter, I have no idea if her story was true, but it made me think about the quality of food that we eat. It makes sense to me that if we eat a nutrient-dense diet, we wouldn't eat nearly the quantity of food we now eat, as our bodies would have all of the nutrients that it needs to carry out its functions.
Just as a point of interest, as mammals, we partition our energy among 5 major metabolic activities:
1. Cellular maintenance
2. Themo-regulation (keeping the body within a certain temperature range)
3. Locomotion
4. Growth
5. Reproduction
So, it seems reasonable that if we make a point of ingesting foods that nourish our body, we will no longer continue to stuff things inside of us that add nothing to our health, and ultimately, deplete our body by the need to digest, detoxify and finally eliminate something from which it has received no benefit. Which brings me back to my point – the only way to eat a nutrient-dense diet is to fill yourself up with unprocessed plants.
So, be kind to yourself - FEED YOU FOR LIFE!
